What is The Winter Joy Project?

The Winter Joy Project is a nonprofit organization with a mission focused on providing winter clothing to those in need. The organization was created to continue the legacy of Toni Parkes, whom we are memorializing with this organization. She was a philanthropist at heart who, whenever she was able to give, gave all that she had. She spent years buying and providing gloves, hats, and scarves to any of the neighborhood children that she saw shivering in the cold. The amount of gloves that she was able to store in her coat pocket often reminded those around her of the magic of Mary Poppins. Help us keep that magic going by being a part of this project.

We intend to help those in Chattanooga, TN, Knoxville, TN, and will be partnering with another nonprofit organization to help in Michigan City, IN, the city where Toni Parkes lived for more than 30 years. We will also be expanding to other cities, starting with nonprofits in Washington, DC.

Why Winter Joy?

We aim to help families and individuals by providing them with packages of winter gloves, scarves, and hats. There may also be additional coupons and giveaways within the packages, depending on donations! All of this will be free, and the pickup will be simple as well. We will continue to update our Facebook page with information on where to pick up your packages, should you need one or know others in need.
